Beach Huts

Yellow Beach Hut in Sandown
It's a special treat to walk along the seafront and look at the beach huts.
They come in all shapes and colours. Single and stacked, tiny and kitchen-integrated, decayed and freshly painted. Sometimes in a row, all identical. They are then distinguished by their punning names ('Sea la vie', 'Sea-esta', 'Jabba the Hut', 'Rod Stewhut').
A place to store and a place to live, they get their colours back when the sun comes out. They become an ideal refuge to read, drink tea or take a well-deserved nap.
That's life on the Isle of Wight.
C’est un plaisir bien particulier que de se promener sur le front de mer et de regarder les cabines de plage.
Il y en a de toutes les formes et de toutes les couleurs. Des simples et des superposées, des minuscules et des cuisine-intégrée, des décatis et des peintures fraiches. Parfois, en ligne, bien rangées toutes identiques. On les distingue alors par leurs noms en jeu de mots (‘Sea la vie’, ‘Sea-esta’, ‘Jabba the Hut’, ‘Rod Stewhut’).
Espace de rangement et lieu de vie, elles reprennent des couleurs dès que le soleil pointe le bout de son nez. Elles deviennent alors un refuge idéal pour lire, boire un thé ou faire une sieste bien méritée.
Ainsi va la vie sur l’Ile de Wight.
