Monkey Business

Last week I went to Monkey Haven with my daughter.
I hadn't planned to take my camera (I'm always a little reluctant to photograph animals in cages), but at the last moment I decided to. I would have missed a great encounter with Rasmaya and Somer (mother and daughter), two fascinating Gibbons Par (to watch and listen to, as their cries are so melodic). I would like to point out that Monkey Haven is not a zoo but a primate rescue center, which perhaps explains why the animals seem almost serene.

La semaine dernière, j’ai visité Monkey Haven avec ma fille.
Je n’avais pas prévu de ramener mon appareil photo (je suis toujours un peu réticent à photographier des animaux en cage) et puis finalement au dernier moment, j’ai décidé de le prendre. Bien m’en a pris, car je serais passé à coté d’une belle rencontre avec Rasmaya et Somer (mère et fille), deux Gibbons Par assez fascinantes (à regarder et à écouter, tant leurs cris sont mélodiques). Je tiens à préciser que Monkey Haven n’est pas un zoo mais un sanctuaire pour primates, ce qui explique peut-être pourquoi les animaux semblent presque sereins.
Ainsi va la vie sur l’Ile de Wight.
